FRESH AND DELICIOUS VEGETABLES
By Krupps .com

People have been growing their own vegetables for as long as time itself.  Fresh and delicious vegetables are fun to grow and when eaten, they offer nutritious food for the entire family to enjoy.  Whether growing vegetables to save money, to get back to nature, or simply as a hobby, you will feel overwhelmed with accomplishment every time you serve something that you grew.

Most often, a vegetable garden is created in a rectangular-shape consisting of long rows of your favorite foods.  While you might prefer to stick with tradition, in truth, vegetable gardens can be any shape you like and they can be small or large.  The only thing to keep in mind when planning your vegetable garden is that you want the size to be manageable.

Additionally, you can create your garden strictly for vegetables or plant flowers as well.  In fact, some flowers will help keep your garden free of pests and wildlife.  Take Marigolds and Snapdragons for example, both produce magnificent blooms but they also serve as a barrier for your garden in that pests and wildlife do not like the smell or taste.

To plan the perfect garden, start by considering the space you have to work with and then decide on the specific type of foods you want to grow.  Often, people will choose radishes, green beans, carrots, and other foods they do not particularly like but grow them anyway since they are standard vegetable foods.  Instead, choose the type of vegetables that you love, not what you think you should grow.  Just remember that you have literally hundreds of options!

If you want to enhance your vegetable garden, another option that is unique and beneficial is to border one side of your garden with fruit trees.  All you need is to leave adequate room to work both the garden and the trees.  Here too, you will have a number of excellent choices but some that produce delicious fruit, beautiful blossoms, and colorful leaves include a Plum Tree, Cherry Tree, Almond Tree, Persimmon Tree, and Pistachio Tree.

If you have enough room, you can also build a grassy pathway that meanders through your garden.  This way, you can walk through the various rows without having to step over or on the plants.  If your space were a bit more limited, then steppingstones would be a great solution.  This look is both clean and neat while also being functional.
